Notes From A Small Stay At Home Island: Day 3
Aka: everyday insights in a time of crisis.
Food waste.
If you’d asked me a few weeks ago whether I wasted much food, I’d have said ‘no’.
And believed it.
But now I’m more consciously thinking about what and how much food I use, I’ve realised that I was only thinking about what I throw in the bin unused at the end of the week.
I hadn’t really considered:
🥦How much i cook that gets left on the plate
🥦How much I freeze & then don’t use
🥦How much more I’ve been feeding us all that we have eaten but don’t really need to fuel our bodies
And it’s been a revelation in how much less we need.
Which pretty much applies to everything else too.
